2007: Year of the Pig [part 2]
    Your Year Ahead

Richard Giles presents his Chinese horoscope forecast for the Year of the Pig in 2007. He looks down the timeline for all of the Chinese Zodiac Animals and gives the flavour of the year for each one. And you can calculate your Zodiac Animal with our free on line calculator!

What's in store for each of the twelve animal signs in 2007? The Snake, ruled by Fire, is the Chinese zodiac animal opposite to the Pig, and traditionally the animal opposite the year sign has a testing time that year. The animal signs that really benefit from this year are the Rabbit, the Sheep and the Tiger. If you feel that you are having a hard time this year, get yourself a Tiger pendant or jewellery piece or put up a Tiger photo in your office environment. The Tiger is in an harmonic combination with the Pig. You'll note here that I've frequently mentioned giving yourself social time-out in the forecasts below. The Pig is a social animal and enjoys others. Take a leaf out his/her book this year.

    Calculate Your Chinese Zodiac Animal

Enter your birth year. For example: "1975"

Please bear in mind that the Chinese year begins in February

    THE PIG (Water): (1911, '23, '35, '47, '59, '71, '83, '95, 2007)
Pigs enjoy themselves and this year is going to be no exception. Take time to flow along with events in the year and you'll be fine. Watch your appetites, don't overindulge and don't overspend. People born in Rabbit, Sheep and Tiger years will help you this year.

    THE RAT (Water): (1912, '24, '36, '48, '60, '72, '84, '96, 2008)
A year when you find the flow of events very rapid and you need to keep your mind on your tasks. There are opportunities and openings for you to take advantage of this year. Make changes in the way you do things and you'll be okay. Particularly look at attitudinal changes.

    THE OX (Earth): (1913, '25, '37, '49, '61, '73, '85, '97, 2009)
The Ox is a quieter person generally and not in the league of the Pig when it comes to a social life. If you associate with Pig born people you may learn to loosen up somewhat. Enjoy yourself. Its a good year for you to travel long distances and good fortune will come from it.

    THE TIGER (Wood): (1914, '26, '38, '50, '62, '74, '86, '98, 2010)
This is a better year for you as the Pig benefits Tigers. You can make great connections this year that will help you in business and travel. It can also be an attractive year for love and romance. Keep an eye on your expenditure limits though, as you'll often feel in an enthusiastic mood.

    THE RABBIT (Wood): (1915, '27, '39, 51, '63, '75, '87, '99, 2011)
This year your fortune is great as you will benefit from the Pig. Friends will be good to you and you'll receive support in your career. Don't take risks or gamble with your resources and finances. Possibilities open up for you and its also good to take time for fun and relaxation.

    THE DRAGON (Earth): (1904, '16, '28, '40, '52, '64, '76, '88, 2000)
The year ahead becomes for you one that favours celebrations, business success and the possibility of marriage. Help yourself by getting the cooperation of others and you'll do okay. Take time out to give yourself breaks and holidays so that you can spend time relaxing.

    THE SNAKE (Fire): (1905, '17, '29, '41, '53, '65, '77, '89, 2001)
Not the greatest year for you as you're the opposite sign to the Pig. The year can bring turbulence, marking time, changes in your life and even the possibility of accidents. Its probable you'll travel this year and that will assist you to deal better with the Pig year. Wear a Tiger pendant in your jewellery for support this year.

    THE HORSE (Fire): (1906, '18, '30, '42, '54, '66, '78, '90, 2002)
Another sign that benefits indirectly from the Pig year. You are up for some new directions this year and you'll also enjoy the social opportunities offered by the Pig. Be open to trying new things and you'll derive much from 2007.

    THE SHEEP (Earth): (1907, '19, '31, '43, '55, '67, '79, '91, 2003)
A great year for the Sheep as you are one of the animal signs favoured by the Pig. New projects, new opportunities and social situations are all good for you this year. This is also a year for receiving rewards and being acknowledged. Romance is a good possibility too. Take it all in.

    THE MONKEY (Metal): (1908, '20, '32, '44, '56, '68, '80, '92, 2004)
A year when you'll be quite busy and its important to make sure you're not run off your feet. Get things in writing and be sure to check out all the details. Don't go on your hunches in 2007. Make enough time for yourself.

    THE ROOSTER (Metal): (1909, '21, '33, '45, '57, '69, '81, '93, 2005)
The year of the Pig is one is one that has you on the move, but you need to look carefully at your directions and make sure its all worth it by January 2008. Don't miss out on details so keep an eye on your diary and plan things well. Keep your friends close to you this year.

    THE DOG (Earth): (1910, '22, '34, '46, '58, '70, '82, '94, 2006)
This year coming up for the Dog is going to be more of a social one. You'll find yourself still campaigning to save others though, so you may be racing about somewhat. Not everything will fall into your lap this year so bide your time. Plan good times away this year.

Every sign will be different and it's important to remember that with each Chinese animal year there can be one of five different elemental combinations. As an example, there are Fire Dog years, Earth Dogs, Metal Dogs, Water Dogs and Wood Dog years. Each of these elemental combinations mean you'll react differently to the year, depending on what's in play for you in 2007. If your element clashes with Fire you may have a tougher, more challenging or testing year. It doesn't mean you won't be successful – the challenge may be just what you need to make it work.

Best of Fire Pig luck with this year and may all the most illustrious blessings and good fortune come your way.
