– The Number 11:
the numerology of September 11th, 2001
Two planes crashed deliberately into both towers of the World Trade Center at mid-morning on Tuesday, 11th September. Within the hour, both buildings collapsed, sending huge flumes of dust and smoke billowing throughout the island of Manhattan.
We have looked at some of the astrological factors at work behind this massive catastrophe. Now we will look at the curious role of the number 11 in this tragedy.
I was stimulated to do this by an email from Andrew Leung. This material is thought-provoking, to say the least!
- In year 2000 on Sept 11th, World Trade Centres all over the western world were under well organised siege by millions of S11 protestors.
- In year 2001 on Sept 11th the NY World Trade Centre, trophy of the
western world, was obliterated in a well organised attack.
- The date of the attack: 11th day of 9th month - 9 + 1 + 1 = 11
- September 11th is the 254th day of the year: 2 + 5 + 4 = 11
- After September 11th there are 111 days left to the end of the year.
- 119 is the area code to Iraq/Iran. 1 + 1 + 9 = 11
- Twin Towers - standing side by side, looks like the number 11
- The first plane to hit the towers was Flight 11
- Transiting Jupiter (financial might; government officials; international trade) was at 11° 35' of Cancer (controlling money; hard shell conceals deep feeling; concern for home and family) in exact conjunction with the fixed star Alzirr (from the Arabic Al Zirr: "The Button").

In numerology, the number 11 is considered to be a Master number, full of mystic and creative potential, but bringing with it a massive responsibility and karmic burden. Under the influence of the number 11, sudden events require swift and decisive action, especially to avert hidden dangers. Financial considerations are brought to the fore and life and death decisions can hinge on a sudden event.
The spiritual potential of 11 shows that a nexus of probability can emerge, with the potential for great harm, as well as great growth in consciousness. 11 is a number that brings power and responsibility into conflict with the need to overthrow the established order.
The 11th card of the Tarot pack is called "Justice". The scales of Justice symbolise the doctrine of karma -- work, action and reaction, the law of cause and effect. The outstanding lesson of this mystic arcanum is to weigh the meaning of present conditions and to overcome the errors of the past.
The astrological energy of the number 11 is represented by Uranus (sudden disaster; unexpected catastrophe). Uranus was retrograde in the 22nd degree of Aquarius, its own sign, with the 22nd degree doubling the energy of 11 (11 x 2 = 22). 22 is another master number. The last attack on the World Trade Center happened in 1993 (1 + 9 + 9 + 3 = 22). The 22nd degree of Leo is known as the degree of "Own Worst Enemy". Uranus opposed this degree at the moment of the first attack (see discussion earlier in this series).

It is also interesting to examine the links of the Attack Chart with the chart of George W. Bush. A superficial examination reveals some significant contact: his progressed Moon is in conjunction with his progressed Venus at 22° Libra, in exact trine aspect with attack Uranus at 22° Aquarius in his 7th house of open conflict. Attack Uranus is in partile (exact) opposition to his progressed Mercury and natal Venus. This shows that the President will seek to take action in combination with partners (NATO?) and will achieve much public recognition (Moon and Venus).
Note well that the President's progressed Mercury is now in 22° Leo. Let us pray that he is not thus inclined to become his "Own Worst Enemy"... I will examine his birth chart in more detail with regard to the situation in a forthcoming article.
